We believe in the importance of collaboration and diversity, and we actively involve the public in our work - whether they are experts or non-experts. By engaging with the public, we aim to not only complement forest monitoring, but also to raise awareness of the current challenges that forest conservation and management are facing. ## Our Working Groups Our working groups pool their expertise to collect and combine as much data as possible. ### The Forest Working Group assesses, digitises and analyses data on six different forest types, examining their structure, species composition and potential impacts. ### The Computer Science Working Group develops AI-based classifiers for image recognition and programmes the MeineWaldKI-app, as well as a dynamic website for evaluating and presenting project results. ### The Citizen Science Working Group focuses on the involvement of the public in forest monitoring and examines the motivation, engagement, and participatory behaviour of citizen scientists. ## Working Groups of Professors ![](https://www.waldki.metronom-leipzig.com/user/pages/02.projekt/03._team/Foto_AnikaGro%C3%9F.jpg) Prof. Dr. Anika Groß Department 5 – Computer Science and Languages [ M.
